Acupuncture

I studied Acupuncture In France for 3 years with Dr Daniel Laurent & Jean-Marie Lepeltier whose school had a partnership with Pr Jack Worsley and the College of Traditional Acupuncture in Lemington Spa in the 80's.

I have also been attending regular seminars on Women's Health with sinologist Elisabeth Rochat de la Vallée in Paris to deepen my understanding of the Chinese Medical Classics.

I did monthly placements in the hospital of Traditional Medicine in Ho Chi Minh City in Vietnam in 2002 and 2003. We keep close relationships with the doctors of HCM City as many studients go there every year and we also have the pleasure of inviting them to attend lectures in Europe.

Shian Corley MA BSc DC

Chiropractor
Shian Corley

I originally trained under my father, Hugh Corley, at the Witney School of Chiropractic. Since then I have obtained a degree in McTimoney-Corley Chiropractic and have also trained in the McTimoney Technique.

I have a particular interest in the often subtle difference between minor illness and health and in how the musculo-skeletal system can affect our sense of well-being. Through this treatment, many people find that they can regain a sense of relaxation and that they increase their awareness of the body and how they use it.

Once you decide to come for treatment, I will take a case history and make an examination. I will then advise on the best approach and the most likely outcome of treatment.

Whether your condition is acute or more longstanding, I will always take a practical view, aimed at meeting your specific needs.

Having been in practice in Scotland since 1988, I consider myself an experienced and highly skilled chiropractor. I am also involved in teaching the McTimoney-Corley Method to chiropractors.

McTimoney-Corley Chiropractic

McTimoney-Corley is a particularly gentle and effective form of manipulation. It was developed by my father, Hugh Corley, and is characterised by the remarkable Reflex-Recoil Adjustment. This is a very fast manipulation delivered with the hands and fingers. It provides a comfortable and safe means of adjusting the spine and many other bones and soft tissues in order to restore movement and proper functioning to the muscles and joints of the body.

The treatment will take around 45 minutes to an hour and may include some advice on how to avoid a recurrence of the problem. I may also suggest some self-help exercises.

The treatment can be very effective in certain acute and chronic conditions of the musculo-skeletal system. Patients most commonly come with back pain, shoulder and neck pain, migraine and other minor problems and injuries.
