Preference of Practitioner

You can at any time express a preference for a particular doctor, for either all of your medical needs or on a case by case basis. However, not all doctors in the practice provide all services and specific doctors may not be immediately available, we will do our best to accommodate you.

The Practice Business Manager

Our Business Manager June Croll is responsible for the management and administration of the practice and staff. She is happy to answer any queries you may have about the practice.
Our reception staff have a demanding job and their aim is to provide an efficient and friendly service. They have been trained to obtain essential information so that the doctors can assess the urgency of any request and they are bound by the same rules of confidentiality as the doctors and nurses.

Practice Nurses

We have two part-time practice nurses, who carry out cervical smears, run an asthma clinic a diabetic clinic and a clinic concerned with the secondary prevention of heart disease.

Our nurses are available to advise on many aspects of healthcare, minor illnesses and healthy eating. Their numerous tasks include:

  • Venepuncture
  • Blood pressure monitoring
  • Ear syringing
  • New patient medicals
  • Dressings and suture removal
  • Travel vaccination advice
  • Immunisations
  • Injections
  • ECGs
  • Warfarin monitoring

Health Visitor

Our attached Health visitor, Helen Mason, visits families and individuals at home and on campus, they provide a full range of advice on most health issues such as; child care, smoking cessation and weight reduction. Our health visitor are mainly concerned with health promotion and illness prevention.

Our Health Visitor has an answer machine service available and messages are checked daily during working hours. Mrs Mason will arrange to see you at a suitable time and place e.g. your home, GP surgery, local clinic and on campus.
